Two-day seminar on Infotech conceded

  Aurangabad: Jan 24: A two-day seminar on ‘Infotech: the challenges of 21st century’ conceded yesterday at the Government Science College here. The function was presided over by Shri. Dr. Ranjan Garge and Shri. Sandeep Pathak of Indian Internet Services was the chief guest. Dr. Ranjan Garge said, the seminar was a success and briefed the audience on the various functions and programmes observed during the two days. He announced that the programme was a huge success and also presented the vote of thanks.
  Shri. Sandeep Pathak in his address said that three technologies would be ruling the 21st century are Quantum theory, genetic engineering and Information technology. Changes are bound to take place and no one can increase or decrease them. We should be ready to face the fast changes in this world. We should dedicate ourselves to work hard and achieve perfection in technology. Prof. Pohekar, the principal of the college, and many personalities were present for the function.

Charter nite of Lions Midtown celebrated

  Aurangabad: Jan 24: The Lions Club, Mid-town branch celebrated it’s tenth charter nite at a function held at Hotel Ajanta Ambassador yesterday. Shri. Mahavir Patni, the club president, presided over the function while Shri. Narayanlal Kalantri, the district governor and Shri. Arvind Machhar, former district governor were the chief guests. Eminent personalities as Shri. K K Aggarwal, Shri. R C Bothra, Dr. Naval Malu, Shri. Sunil Desarda, Shri. Adeshpal singh chhabda, Shri. Tansukh Zambad, Shri. Manmohan Agrawal, Ms Savitridevi Bapna, Ms Ranjan Khatod, Ms Mukti Jain were present for the function.
  The secretary, Shri. Gautam Dodal and Ms Sarita Dodal read out the report of the club activities during the last six months. Shri. Naresh Sickchi and Ms Smita Malpani conducted the proceedings. Shri. Aggarwal presented the vote of thanks.

Giants Board of Directors swearing-in ceremony marked with a function

  Aurangabad: Jan 24: The Giants 23rd Board of Directors swearing in ceremony was marked when a handicapped youth Ghanshyam Bansode was donated a tricycle here recently. Shri. Subhash Zambad was the chief guest for the function. Many members of the Giants International central committee were present at the occasion. Shri. Madanjeet Singh gave the introductory speech and Shri. R N Joshi presented a report of the group’s activities during 1999. Shri. Kala administered the oath of memberships to the new directors. Ms Veena Grover proposed a vote of thanks.

State Government postpones the appointment of additional PPs

  Aurangabad: Jan 24: The State Government yesterday submitted an affidavit in the Aurangabad bench of Bombay High Court that the government would not make appointments of additional public prosecutors for the time being. A petition has been filed by the Assistant Public Prosecutors Association had filed a petition in the high court demanding the posts of additional public prosecutors should be filled by promoting the assistant PPs. The advocate general, Shri. Wahanvati submitted an affidavit in the high court that government would not appoint additional PPs for the time being.

Man arrested for murdering wife

  Aurangabad Jan 24: A resident of Naygaon, Abdul Sattar, was arrested by the Phulambri police for allegedly murdering his wife, Sameenbi, yesteraday. He had told the police that his wife was killed in an accident. However, the father of Sameenbi, Shri. Mohammed Badshah claimed that his daughter was murdered by Abdul by smashing her head with a stone. Abdul was demanding Rs 40,000 form Sameenbi for starting a business. The police have arrested the accused and a case of murder was registered against him.
